Palm Bay Assistant City Attorney’s Wife Arrested in Knife-Involved Domestic Incident
Palm Bay Police arrested Kendra Edwards on March 2, 2026, following a domestic dispute at the home she shares with Palm Bay Assistant City Attorney Rodney Edwards. Investigators say the confrontation began over a text message and escalated when Kendra Edwards allegedly grabbed a butcher knife and advanced toward her husband, prompting him to fear for his safety.
What Officers Learned at the Scene
According to the arrest report, Rodney Edwards told officers he was in the kitchen sorting mail when Kendra Edwards approached him from behind and punched him in the back of the head. He said he grabbed her to stop additional blows. The situation then escalated when Kendra Edwards allegedly took a butcher knife from the kitchen, slammed it repeatedly on the counter, and walked toward him with the weapon in hand.
Rodney Edwards said he retreated toward the master bedroom because he believed she might attack him. He told officers he did not wish to pursue charges; however, he provided home surveillance footage of the incident. Officers reviewed the video and said it corroborated his statement.
Arrest and Charges
Based on the sworn statement and the video evidence, officers determined sufficient probable cause existed to make an arrest. Kendra Edwards was charged with domestic violence battery and aggravated assault. She was taken to the Palm Bay Police Department Booking Facility and later transferred to the Brevard County Jail.
As with all criminal cases, the charges filed against Kendra Edwards are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
