19-Year-Old Arrested After High-Speed Chase in Stolen Honda Ends in Crash in Palm Bay
A 19-year-old woman was taken into custody in Palm Bay on February 27, 2026, after police say she led officers on a pursuit through busy shopping areas in a vehicle reported stolen out of Stuart, ultimately crashing into the front gate of a business on Malabar Road.
The Chase
According to a probable cause affidavit filed by Palm Bay Police Officer Nicholas Todd, officers in marked patrol vehicles attempted to stop a silver 2002 Honda that had been reported stolen. The driver accelerated away, traveling at high speed through multiple heavily congested pedestrian shopping plazas before continuing through several roadways in southwest Palm Bay.
The affidavit states the driver eventually turned onto Adige Court, a dead-end street. Todd, operating an unmarked vehicle, activated his emergency lights and began positioning for a felony stop. The Honda made a U-turn, crossed into Todd’s lane, and struck the front of his vehicle before fleeing again. A vehicle pursuit was then authorized and lasted approximately 2.3 miles, during which the driver reportedly ignored traffic control devices and nearly caused multiple collisions with other motorists.
Crash and Arrest
The pursuit ended when the Honda crashed into the front gate of the Golf Cart Center at 1335 Malabar Road NE. The driver exited the vehicle and was taken into custody without further incident. She was medically cleared at a hospital before being transported to the Brevard County Jail Complex.
The suspect was identified as Jocelyn Annette Flores. She was charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding and reckless driving.
As with all criminal cases, the charges filed against Jocelyn Annette Flores are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
