Two Teens Charged in Facebook Marketplace Robbery Ring Targeting iPhone Buyers
BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Detectives have arrested two teenagers in connection with a series of robberies that targeted iPhone buyers who arranged transactions through Facebook Marketplace. Both suspects face multiple felony charges following an investigation into recurring incidents at the same address.
Suspects and Charges
Kenneth Copeland, born March 24, 2009, and Frank Roberts, born August 10, 2007, were taken into custody by detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit. Both suspects face charges including robbery, robbery with a weapon, grand theft, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Pattern of Robberies
According to investigators, the robberies began on January 24, 2026, and were followed by two additional incidents on January 26. All of the reported crimes occurred at the same address — 439 Barbara Jenkins Street. The scheme involved luring buyers advertising or seeking iPhones through Facebook Marketplace to the location, then robbing them.
Investigation and Arrests
Detective Hartzell identified Copeland early in the investigation as a primary person of interest. Evidence gathered during the inquiry linked both Copeland and Roberts to the crimes. Both were subsequently taken into custody. The investigation was conducted by the Criminal Investigations Unit.
As with all criminal cases, the charges filed against Kenneth Copeland and Frank Roberts are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
