A 55-year-old Titusville, Florida, man is facing 10 felony charges after investigators reportedly discovered child sexual abuse material on electronic devices seized from his home. The case against James Harvey Griffith was detailed in an arrest warrant affidavit filed in Brevard County Circuit Court.
Investigation Began With a Tip
The Titusville Police Department launched its investigation on December 21, 2025, after receiving a call from a concerned citizen who reported that Griffith allegedly possessed child sexual abuse material. A witness provided a sworn statement describing what she observed on a television monitor inside Griffith’s residence. Based on that information, police secured and executed a search warrant the same day, seizing multiple electronic devices from the home, including a personal computer connected to the television.
Forensic Examination of Devices
The confiscated devices were sent to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Digital Forensics Unit for analysis. According to the affidavit, examiners identified 10 distinct images meeting the legal definition of child sexual abuse material. Each image was cataloged individually and formed the basis for a separate criminal charge.
Griffith was charged with 10 counts of possession of material depicting sexual performance by a child, each classified as a third-degree felony under Florida law. A capias warrant for his arrest was issued by the court following a review of the evidence.
Legal Proceedings
Griffith was taken into custody and booked at the Brevard County Jail Complex. Bond was set at $50,000. Court records indicate that a public defender was appointed to represent him in the case.
As with all criminal cases, the charges filed against James Harvey Griffith are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
