A former Burger King manager in Brevard County, Florida, has been arrested after allegedly stealing approximately $3,500 from the restaurant’s safe and later confessing to the crime. Kris Kumar faces one count of burglary of an unoccupied structure and one count of grand theft.
How the Theft Occurred
In mid-November 2025, the current store manager reported that an unknown person had entered the business, accessed the office, and entered a code to open the safe. The individual took approximately $3,500 before leaving the premises.
Investigators reviewed surveillance footage and identified Kumar, a former manager at the same location, as the person who entered the restaurant and accessed the safe. Kumar had previously worked at the store and was familiar with the security code.
Confession and Arrest
When confronted by Brevard County Sheriff’s Office detectives, Kumar admitted to the break-in and theft. He was subsequently arrested and booked on the burglary and grand theft charges.
As with all criminal cases, the charges filed against Kris Kumar are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
