Brevard County to Host Indian River Lagoon Workshop in Palm Bay on January 12
The Brevard County Board of County Commissioners will hold a public Save Our Indian River Lagoon workshop in Palm Bay on Monday, January 12, 2026, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Palm Bay City Council Chambers, located at 120 Malabar Road SE.
Workshop Focus and Presentations
The meeting is organized in coordination with the City of Palm Bay and will center on updates and ongoing restoration efforts for the Indian River Lagoon. Participating organizations include the Brevard County Natural Resources Department, the Save Our Indian River Lagoon Citizen Oversight Committee, the National Estuary Program, and representatives from local businesses and the broader community.
County officials say the event is designed to give residents current information on lagoon restoration progress, program priorities, and plans for the future. The agenda will also include a public comment period, during which residents may ask questions and provide feedback directly to county officials and program managers.
About the Indian River Lagoon Program
The Save Our Indian River Lagoon program was established to address persistent water quality challenges affecting the lagoon, which stretches along much of Florida’s east coast and is recognized as one of the most biologically diverse estuaries in North America. The program has supported numerous restoration projects targeting nutrient pollution, muck removal, and the rehabilitation of seagrass habitats and aquatic facilities.
Residents interested in lagoon conservation efforts are encouraged to attend the workshop in person.
